“The idea of the supernatural is the mystic gap that has separated scientists from knowing God” – author Unknown
I recently happen to watch the movie – “Doctor Strange”, which I consider as one of the best movies of all time. It’s not just about VFX or for Benedict Cumberbatch 🙂 . The movie has something to tell the world. It conveys a strong message that “Not all things can be explained in theory or can be reproduced during experimentation”. There are always some things that are yet to be understood, or that provokes us to accept the defeat of modern science in comprehending it. I usually have a lot of discussions regarding super-naturality, dimensions with my friends and end up having hot arguments ! In one such situation, a good friend of mine, and an active advocate of my debates suggested me to read a book. This is where, I came across a wonderful book called “Wisdom of the Sadhu”.
The Sanskrit terms sādhu (“good man”) and sādhvī (“good woman”) refer to renouncers who have chosen to live lives apart from or on the edges of society to focus on their own spiritual practices. The Sadhu, whom this blog post will refer to, is a little different from the traditional one. The “Wisdom of the Sadhu” is a wonderful book written originally by Sadhu Sundar Singh, a great spiritual leader of the 1900’s. This book contains a collection of wonderful, thought-provoking parables that help us understand the mystic world, which is otherwise called the spiritual realm.
The first parable – the Hungry Birds describes the human inability to perceive God with our five senses. The Sadhu explains why this is impossible and explains how immatured our spiritual senses are to receive the divine stimulus. The book goes on with parable after parable, each following a Q/A approach, which engages the reader. To be frank, I literally read the book within a day and each parable made me understand and question every thing that is not explained by today’s science.
Being a student of science and technology, it may seem indifferent to adopt my views to a irrational, illogical philosophy which has no solid proofs. But these are things, which I think are always a mystery to everybody. And, I was quite convinced after reading the book, that modern science has failed to explain metaphysics and the mystic sciences. These are things, that are to be understood in-order to get a conceptual idea of the us and the Universe.
Though we succeed in visualizing and experimenting future technologies like Gene Editing, Stem-cells, Alien Contacts and Space Colonization, we still lack the basic understanding of the following questions:
- Who are we ?
- Where do we come from ?
- Where do we go ?
This book will not provide sufficient answers to all these. But will surely be a thought provoking tool, that will enrich our knowledge about the Mystic World. The book attempts to explain the concept behind God, sufferings, creation, soul, spiritual realm etc. The parables are written very generic, that any person belonging to any religion can read 🙂
I bet, that this book will be a source of wonderful spiritual knowledge that will help you question today’s sciences ! You won’t regret any moment of reading it. This is a must-read for all seekers of truth ! You can download the ebook here .
